Tracking Habits for 24 Hours.
I tracked my habits for 24 hours on a normal working day. Particularly it was a Friday. Following are the planned activities that I did on that day:
I Woke up at 9am and went to class which starts at 10am and ends at 11am.
Then I went to Garden Commons dining halls and had something to eat as breakfast.
After having breakfast, I went to another class starting at 11:30am which ended at 12:50pm.
Immediately after this class, I left for another class starting at 1pm and ending at 2:20pm. That’s it, I was done for the week.
After my last class I went to western dining commons to get some lunch and after that I reached back to my room around 3:30pm.
After coming back to my room, I did homework and completed some assignments until 6pm.
At 6 I left to go to the Recreational sports center(Gym). Time for some workout and stress bursting activities.
I got free around 7:30 and left the gym to get some dinner at the western dining commons again.
After getting dinner I got back to my room around 8:30 and immediately after coming back I went to take a shower.
After coming back from shower, I rested for like half an hour and then around 10 I again started doing my homework as I have this weird tendency to complete my homework as soon as possible so that I don’t miss the deadlines.
Around 1am, I talked to my family over facetime as it was day time in India. (10-and-a-half-hour time difference)
And finally, after talking to them for about 1 hour I went to bed.
This was my usual Friday. Nothing fancy……. until I decided that instead of doing homework on a Friday night where I already had such a stressful week, I should have fun on Fridays after classes and leave homework for the rest of the weekend. I literally did whatever I wanted to on the next Friday after classes and trust me I HAD A BLAST!!!
Here is the list of things which I did and messed up my schedule to make my day worth remembering:
Immediately after my last class, I didn’t even go to get lunch and instead I went back to my room.
After coming to my room I did not care about the time and homework, all I did was kept my bag on the table and took nap which technically wasn’t a nap. I slept for 4 hours.
After waking up I went to the gym and worked out for a while and then went to Pulley diner in Armstrong student center to get dinner as it was around 9pm and all the dining halls were closed. After getting dinner.
I came back to my room and guess what, here is the best part, my friends invited me for a house party. I quickly took a shower and left to party with my friends around 10:30pm.
The party was in a house near uptown. After that party got over at 12, me and my friends left to go the bars in uptown. We went to brick street.
I can’t even describe how much fun I had that night. I made so many new friends. I remember I came back around 3am and slept.
I woke up around 1pm the next morning.
After this crazy day and crazy night, where I thought I would do something what I like. I finally felt happy at the end of all this. I felt that a break from this stressful college life is important. I will do this kind of things more often or maybe every Friday in the coming future. But the next day I worked hard and did more homework than usually I do on a day as I had to cover for the previous day.
