First Ideas- Bane or boon?
It is pretty simple to think of or come up with a new ideas for anything. Be it business or be it pleasure. Coming up with the first idea is even more easy because at some point of time deadline comes before the best idea for the work does now to be very wise, I believe that we should never go for the first idea of ours. There can be few pointers which can support my statement:
The first idea may never be the best one which will lead to poor quality of work
Even if the first idea is the best one then is there is no harm with coming up with more ideas and then comparing it with the first one.
Now, the only drawback that I see in this is that it may be a time taking process but then a question comes to my mind. Don’t good things take time?
Now for example, a friend of mine in India is a part of street play society and is doing a play on Refugee Crisis. What he told me was that initially, his team was about to do a play on IFSPA i.e. Indian Forces Special Power Act, but did not because it could have caused internal crisis which could’ve harmed his team’s hard work so they went for Refugee Crisis. Now not going with the first idea was a right decision to make in this situation but it went the other way round in the next situation. So, in the next situation, when they started working on the topic Refugee Crisis, they decided to start the play with an introductory song in which everything is going very well initially but then everything goes dark later on as many members of the society did not like the first scene because they were not winning with this scene initially. So the director of the play decided to keep the entire theme of the play very dark so that the audience can feel the pain which every refugee was going through but even this scene backfired because it was too complicated and a layman could not understand the play with this ‘dark’ scene so they had no other option but to go back to the previous scene and do it with more conviction which eventually led to good results because they realized it later that to feel the pain first, the audience need to feel the happiness refugees had. Now what I collected from this information is that the first idea was much better than the later one, just not well executed. But then again, I don’t see any harm in coming up and using more than one idea because if there’s only one idea then there are no options left to choose from.
Finally, I don’t agree with the statement that our first ideas are not the best ideas as I said in the first paragraph. Sometimes we have to go with the first idea as that is core thing which our mind develops in the first place and also which has been in our mind for a while because of which it jumped to the first place as the first idea. This idea might be best or worst. Along with other ideas, first idea should also be given equal importance and consideration.
